Locksmith Terms and Conditions

1. Introduction

These Terms & Conditions govern all locksmith services provided by Crownshield Locksmiths (“we”, “us”, “our”). By booking or receiving our services, the customer (“you”, “your”) agrees to these terms.

  • If you do not agree with any part of these Terms & Conditions, you should not use our services.


2. Services Provided

We offer a range of locksmith services, including but not limited to:

  • Emergency lockouts
  • Lock repair and replacement
  • Key cutting (where applicable)
  • Security upgrades
  • Residential and commercial locksmith services

All services are subject to availability.


3. Pricing & Payment

3.1 Call‑Out Fees

A call‑out fee may apply depending on your location, time of day, and service required. This will be confirmed before attendance whenever possible.


3.2 Labour Charges

Labour is charged at our standard or emergency rate, depending on the time of service. Rates may vary for evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.


3.3 Parts & Materials 

Any parts, locks, or materials supplied will be charged in addition to labour. Prices will be confirmed before installation where possible.


3.4 Payment Terms

Payment is due immediately upon completion of the service unless otherwise agreed in writing.
We accept:

  • Cash
  • Debit/credit card
  • Bank transfer (by prior agreement)

We reserve the right to charge late payment fees for overdue invoices.


4. Cancellations

4.1 Customer Cancellations

If you cancel after a locksmith has been dispatched, a call‑out fee may still apply.

4.2 Company Cancellations

We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule appointments due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., emergencies, staff illness, safety concerns).


5. Emergency Services

Emergency call‑outs are prioritised but cannot be guaranteed within a specific timeframe.
Arrival times are estimates and may vary due to traffic, weather, or other operational factors.


6. Customer Responsibilities

You confirm that:

  • You are the legal owner, tenant, or authorised person for the property where work is carried out
  • You have provided accurate information about the issue
  • You will ensure safe access to the property

We reserve the right to refuse service if we suspect unlawful activity or unsafe conditions.


7. Damage & Liability

7.1 Non‑Destructive Entry

We always aim to use non‑destructive methods. However, in some cases destructive entry may be necessary. You will be informed before proceeding.

7.2 Existing Faults

We are not responsible for damage caused by:

  • Pre‑existing faults
  • Poorly installed or faulty locks
  • Wear and tear
  • Structural issues


7.3 Liability Limits

To the fullest extent permitted by UK law, we are not liable for:

  • Loss of earnings
  • Indirect or consequential losses
  • Costs arising from delays

Our total liability is limited to the cost of the service provided.


8. Warranties

8.1 Labour Warranty

We provide a 12‑month warranty on workmanship unless otherwise stated.

8.2 Parts Warranty

Parts are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty only.

Warranties do not cover misuse, accidental damage, or tampering by third parties.


9. Complaints

If you are unhappy with our service, please contact us within 14 days.
We will investigate and aim to resolve complaints promptly and fairly.


10. Data Protection

We handle your personal data in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Information is used solely for providing services and will not be shared with third parties except where legally required.


11. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Any disputes will be handled by the courts of England and Wales.


12. Additional Charges (Parking, Tolls & Congestion Zones)

In addition to labour and parts, the following charges may apply depending on the service location:

  • Parking fees where no free or legal parking is available
  • London Congestion Charge
  • ULEZ charges
  • Dartford Crossing (Dart Charge)
  • Blackwall Tunnel user charge

These charges will be added to the final invoice at cost.


13. Updates to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.
The version published on our website at the time of service will apply.
